But on the other hand there are many organizations today trying to help these causes. One very significant organization is WWF (World Wildlife Fund). This organization is one of the world's largest well known independent conservation that is helping the world wildlife within 90 offices in 40 countries each and everyday all over the world.
WWF’s Johnjoe Cantos poses with Carl Andrei Leuterio, WWF’s youngest Hero of the Environment thus far.
A great article I found was about a 3 Filipinos together with a young eight year old boy named Carl Andrei Leuterio receiving the WWF Hero of Environment awards in San Teodoro, Philippines. They had obtained this award because of their courageous behavior of saving a stranded dolphin that couldn't save itself. In a heavy rain fall, the 2.5-meter long Risso’s dolphin (Grampus griseus) was found floating by the shoreline in the early afternoon on September 2. The poor dolphin looked very weak, and had noticeably red eyes with heavy skin irritations. The 3 guys quickly called the Philippine civilian fisheries patrol and they rushed to arrive on the scene. Within 3 hours the dolphin was all better and safely released back into the deep waters. The 2.5 meter Risso’s Dolphin was slowly coaxed off into deeper waters. It swam off unharmed. Barangay San Teodoro. 2 September 2010.
The actions of Carl, Terence and Jacinto brought so much honour to the Philippines. It really showed who the true leaders were. While dolphins are getting killed in other parts of the world, these 3 heroes chose to do the right thing! There are so many people that ignore news like this. It really showed the true colours of these 3 young men. Many animals are endangered or are getting killed by countless problems today. We really need to take a look at what's really happening in our world and try to help whenever needed! It could of been any other animal other than a dolphin that was suffering. We all need to just realize that these animals are living things too, and we should respect that. I really admire and awknowledge the little boy that tried to help. There are grown men out there who wouldn't even care. I'm happy for the 3 boys that got awknowledged by WWE for their great work. WWE is a very great organization that is trying to help world wildlife all over the world!

wow, exciting
ReplyDeleteI really admire how these Filipino men gave it their all to help save this stranded animal. It's completely true how humans have done serious damage to earth, but now that we're going green and saving animals just like the little boy did, it shows that we really care. It shows that there are a lot of people around the world who are doing what they can to keep our earth safe, even if it may be the littlest things. Good job, Kaitlin.
ReplyDeleteI thought this was an interesting article. These three Filipinos men, who just randomly helped this poor dolphin is what I call heroes. Even when one of the,m is only 3 years old. I honestly that is something really inspiring, that someone who is about 13 years younger then me helping a poor animal needing help and saving them.

ReplyDeleteThis is definitely an inspiring article. Knowing that these three Filipino men not only saved a helpless dolphin, but are as young as 8 years old! It is great to know that people of all ages are doing what they could and beyond to keep life a cycle. Organizations such as WWF (World Wildlife Fund) do their best to hold onto the environment even when life is on the verge of being endangered. Even through the smallest things we do, like tossing garbage into the appropriate bins can help improve the environment. These three young men took a further step and showed us that anyone can be just as heroic and age is just a number.
ReplyDeleteSmall acts of kindness definitely make a difference. Any effort, no matter how small will add up and eventually lead to the success of all our efforts - save our planet. As well as it shows how organizations really do provide a remedy, getting involved saves!
ReplyDeleteAs an animal lover, I'd say this article is truly inspiring. It’s refreshing to see something positive in the news for a change. More often than not, the news reports negativity around the world. Seeing this article reminds me that there is still hope and makes me wonder what I can to in order to help those around me.
ReplyDeleteThese three heroes are leading by example. It is great to see that WWE has acknowledged their efforts and given them the recognition they deserve.
The little things you can do for the world and to other living creatures like these dolphins and make a huge difference. The kids knew there was something wrong so when they tried helping, it paid off in a big way
